Favorite at Home Facial

The days of shelling out cash for high priced spa appointments could be winding down as more and more cosmetic companies are developing products that bring similar salon results to your very own bathroom. Awesome. Love it.

Where as we used to have to make an appointment with either a dermatologist or esthetician to get “the goods”, now we can use lower concentration at home facial peels to smooth our skin all by ourselves.

So today I want to share with you one of my favorite at home facial products. It really is the secret to achieving super smooth skin. (Please note that I am not an esthetician, and I can only recommend what works for me personally. Please always check with your doctor first!)

One of most popular skin renewing procedures has been a glycolic acid peel. Glycolic acid is a super charged exfoliant. It works by removing dead skin cells, thereby improving the texture of the skin. It can help with fine lines, acne and hyperpigmentation.

Boots No7 has made a fantastic at home glycolic acid peel that is gentle enough for the average consumer. The concentration of glycolic acid is lower (7%) than what you would get with a professional treatment, but if used properly, can also result in less redness and irritation.

Boots No7 Advanced Renewal Anti-Aging Glycolic Peel Kit is my favorite at home facial. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully and do a patch test first to avoid adverse reactions.

Following a glycolic peel, my skin is in desperate need of hydration. What I like to do is follow up the Boots at home facial with a super charged hydrating mask. I love, love, love the  Mother Made Deep Moisturizing Rich Snail Facial Mask.

Snails? Really?

Why yes! If you can get over the ick factor,  snail mucin is super charged with hyaluronic acid which helps hydrate and plump the skin. It’s very gentle and just what you need to restore moisture and softness to ender, post-facial skin.

Well, there you have it! My favorite at home facial for super smooth skin.
